My co-author Yang-May and I met with our publisher Kogan Page yesterday to discuss the release of our book
It is so exciting.
After weeks spent locked up writing, the book is finally morphing into something physical.
So far, I had only been able to picture it in my mind…. It only existed in my memory as a series of files.
Whenever a new piece of information comes to me, I rush to commit it to the corresponding part of my mind.
But today for the first time, I was able to picture it.
A paperback with our names on the cover….
In December, we will have to choose the design of the cover…
This afternoon my mind set itself in motion (while I was trying to function in the unusual London heat) and was churning up an infinite number of covers with psychedelic colours (I promise we won’t go for those).
Writing this book has been like diving into another world, from which I have not yet entirely returned (I still have to write a couple of chapters).
I have been spending so much time in the world of my mind that, sometimes, when I finally resurface and leave the house for a meeting, I cannot believe London is where I am really living.
Many thanks to all my friends and colleagues who have been there for me, giving me ideas for the book and not looking too surprised, every time I reappear from my hide-away, my social skills substantially diminished….
Publication date is 3 July 2009, but we will be starting to promote the book 3 or 4 months earlier giving talks and presentations.
And we are planning a launch party for the book! I promise my social skills will be fully restored by then…
